The regional Science Olympiad took place this past weekend in Greensboro. East Chapel Hill High came away as the big winner. The varsity team finished first out of 15 teams in the varsity competition. The school also fielded three junior varsity teams which finished first, second and third out of 13 teams in the junior varsity division. Clearly, this was a dominant performance for the Wildcats. The Chapel Hill High varsity team finished as regional runners up.At the middle school level, the Phillips Middle varsity team finished as runners up, followed by Smith Middle, who finished in third place out of 20 teams. Smith won the middle school junior varsity division and Phillips finished right behind them in second place.
Congratulations to all involved. The state finals will be held at North Carolina State University on Saturday, April 22.
